Hi. My bond number 366779303 was registered on the 29th April. To date we have not received a cent from standard bank with regards to the retention on the building loan. A few requirements were relaxed before registration. The house was built 10 years ago and we just completed the finishes. We were advised that all will be in order once we receive the occupancy certificate, which was done. Standard bank is now insisting on a foundation certificate which neither the original owner or we have. Many documents that was sent to the bank eg the engineers certificate is now being asked for again. I am at a loss as to what must be done as we have contractors literally harassing us for payment. I have now received docs from FNB with regards to switching our bond. Looks like I have no choice as our bond is only 2 months old and we have only had terrible service from standard bank. Is this the service we have to get used to in South Africa? I will go to as many banks as possible to look for good service and not just stay with STandard Bank.
