I was involved in a car accident in October 2008 and my car was written off by my above-mentioned insurer. The claim was settled in November 2008 after completion of all necessary documents. I was surprised when I wanted to register my new car in 2010 that the written off car is not yet deregistered. I went to their offices at 75 President Street to lodge a complaint. I was sent from license department to Old Mutual Finance until I was told that he car certificate was lost between the financer and insurer. I was told that they will request duplicate car certificate and it will take 3 Months to be issued and then the car will be deregistered. After 4 months when I made a follow-up and found that nothing was done and they will make a follow-up and give me feedabck. As a service recovery, the outstanding fees on written off car were paid by the insurer and I was able to register my new. No one came back to me until today and the car is still not deregistered.
