My name is luleka. i had registered with ABSA rewards in 2010 however after noticing that i do not benefit from this rewards programme i cancelled it at ABSA branch in Clearwater. After i cancelled it was all well until about 3 months ago when ABSA started debiting my account again for the same thing without my permission. they debited my account twice when there was no money and as a result i was charged for the returned debit. i never gave authourity for my account to be debited and therefore i do not believe i should be paying for those charges. i called on monday 03/06/2013 and spoke to lerato. she logged the complaint and promised i would get feedback within 5-7 working days. today is the 12/06/2013 and i have heard nothing from ABSA, instead my account was debited again with R21 without my consent. i want ABSA to reimburse me for the bank charges i incurred as result of their error, which is R138x2, and also refund my R21 which was taken this morning. i have been banking with ABSA all my life and after this experience i will be moving to another bank. if i get no response i will go to the Ombudsman for Banking Services. i use up all my airtime calling you.
