I have a value added insurance with Dial direct for a cellphone. I had a claim in Dec 2012 for a cracked LCD for my phone which i claimed for and the repairs were done and paid my excess of R500.00. In June 2013 my phone had another defect which was the screen again which i submitted a claim and now the repairs have been completed and i'm advised that the excess is R750.00 but in my policy documents it says the excess is R500.00 not R750.00. I called Dial direct to get clarity on this matter but i was told that because i claimed within 6 months my excess is R750.00 i should have been advised by the claim ad-visor, which he didn't. My question is why is this not stated in the policy document when i signed up for the policy. I'm not willing to pay that excess of R750.00. It should have been clearly stated in the policy documents when i initially took the policy out.
