I opened a MarketLink account with Standard Bank
I read that one gets 3 free cash deposits per month of up to R3000-00. I didn't know whether that meant it was free if you deposited R3000-00 as the wording is very badly done. They should say up to and excluding R3000-00 if they mean that depositing R3000 is not free!
Anyway I didn't take a chance on my first deposit and put in R2990. On the second deposit I thought it is really irritating to have to put in such a random amount as 'less than R3000', so I asked the lady at the front desk at Eastgate whether it includes R3000 as a free deposit and she said to me that yes it does mean that R3000 is a free deposit.
So I put in two deposits of R3000 only to see that I had been charged a fee for the deposits. I then had to spend an hour in the Eastgate branch speaking to 3 different people and finally having a huge argument with the Team Leader before she agreed to reverse the charges. I then see that the one charge was reversed but not the other one! So then I had to stay on the telephone for 30 minutes while the gentlemen on the phone (who was much more polite and understanding) than the Eastgate branch reversed the second cha
