Jan 2013, my mercedes was involved in a accident with a dog. Damage was caused to the front of the car, including bumper, radiator & air-conditioner. We are insured with Mercedes Benz, who contract Regent to provide service. Our vehicle was taken to Durban Central Panel Beaters. We were told our vehicle was repaired, including the radiator & airconditioner, and that we "had to drive the vehicle for a few days for the aircon to circulate the gas & work efficiently". I was also told that a repair technician would call me to remove the stuck CD, caused during the impact. After 4 days, I called the panel beaters to inform them the aircon was not functional, & their technician had not called to remove the stuck CD. I was asked to leave the vehicle with them, & after 2 weeks of haggling, I was finally told the approval from Regent was given to replace the aircon compressor. We received the vehicle after 3 weeks, & aircon worked for 2 days, then broke. I was asked to take my vehicle to Cool Connections to have it assessed. They indicated the problem was wear & tear. My vehicle worked perfectly before the accident, Regent & Mercedes tell me it is not their problem any longer.
