I took out a funeral cover for my grandmother with Assupol life. She passed on before the cover qualified. I called Assupol to cancel as I did not need it anymore. I was advised to send through a letter stating my policy number and attachments like death certificate and my ID, which I did. 2 months later the debit order was still going through my bank account. I called their call centre, and was advised not to cancel the policy but rather wait for Assupol life to refund me or else I won't get my money. This happened in 2011 and to date I have not been refunded by this company and the debit order is still going through my account
