Account Still not closed since requested May 2012

Good Day,

I had a business account with Nedbank which I requested be closed on 23 May 2012. The branch manager said she would close the account upon me emailing her my CK2 document and handed me her business card.

I emailed it the same day.

Imagine my surprise when I received a call from attorneys wanting to collect the money owed on the account because of unpaid debit orders and service charges. I've referred them to Nedbank. I have since then sent over 40 emails to Nedbank Benoni branch as well as left messages for them to return my call. Till date this has not been resolved.

Also, a company in error made a payment to the Nedbank account about 2 weeks ago and when I informed them that the account was closed, their bank confirmed it is still open. This company already re-paid my money to my active account and I insist that Nedbank returns their funds as soon as possible.

What would it take for this to be resolved?
