Recently I tried applying for car finance, MFC denied me stating that I have a default of bad debt on my name for a FNB account I closed in Dec 2011, a debt FNB never ever informed of. I then went to my nearest FNB branch to find out what went wrong, after me closing my account, some of my debit orders still went through and these charges calculated to an amount of R901.52c, which FNB wrote off, I wasn't informed of these charges from FNB . After finding out that I have this debt I paid the amount in full and received a letter stating that the amount is paid, the problem is however that on ITC it only reflects now BAD DEBT PAID the default still reflects, after contacting Transunion to find out what is happing, why is this still reflecting, Transunion informed me that FNB has to write a letter giving permission that they can remove the default. I then phoned FNB customer care; customer care said that only the branch which held the account can give me this letter. I then contacted the branch Wonderpark in Pretoria which housed my account, it has been 3 weeks and me phoning daily and still I have no response on this. My life is on hold because of R901.52
