My wife and i were checking our budget and decided we need to save some money. We checked our outsurance policy and noticed my Mountain Bike cost more than my wife's car to insure so i got her to remove it from our policy.
She phones Outsurance and they say no problem and remove it, they then send us a new policy and premiums for the remaining 2 cars and household, but to our surprise, after removing my bike, that was about R550 per month our premium remained almost the same. Outsurance increased the premiums on the remaining insured items by just over 14%.
We've been with them for a couple of years, never claimed and the 1st time we try to amend the policy, wham bam thank you mam, 14% increase.
Needless to say, we've moved our insurance and when we cancelled with outsurance then all of a sudden they wanted to revisit our premium, wait - no thank you.
