Struggling with pin/chip problems

I have struggled since end of 2012 with my new cheque card - every time that I want to pay with my card, the machine requests my pin 4 times. I went to the branch in Jan to complain, and they reset my password and also instructed me to reset my pin at the atm. Ever since then, I've struggled to withdraw cash at certain standard bank atms, the error code is 0457, and the problem with the swiping of the card continued. About a week ago, every time I swiped my card, the machine declined it due to an incorrect pin - which is not incorrect. I am not able to withdraw cash or even reset my pin at the atm. It is extremely embarrassing when my card is declined. I am still not able to withdraw cash, and went to report all this yesterday. I was issued a temporary card, while they ordered my new cheque card. My temporary card still does not work!!! It got declined again today! It is more than 24hours later, and I still have the same problem! I am sick of this! Standard Bank is really the cause of al lot of embarrassment!
